Six Flags Magic Mountain plans to eliminate two of the Valencia park’s aging roller coasters. The white and blue steel coaster Flashback, which opened in 1985, and the wooden coaster Psyclone, an imitation of the Coney Island Cyclone, will be dismantled starting this winter. The coaster closures may be part of a re-branding effort by New York-based Six Flags to make its theme parks more family friendly and less reliant on thrill rides. It will leave the Valencia theme park with 15 coasters.
