Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center was ranked No. 1 in the state of California for Gastrointestinal surgery, and among the top three state hospitals for heart surgery, by the independent healthcare ratings organization HealthGrades. HealthGrades based its 12th annual Hospital Quality in America study on reviews of patient outcomes at the nation’s hospitals. “We are proud to be part of a hospital that has achieved such high recognition, particularly for the quality of our heart and surgical services,” said Mark A. Meyers, president of Glendale Memorial. “Our physicians and staff have worked hard to ensure our patients are receiving some of the best care and best outcomes in the nation.” Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is a 334-bed acute care community hospital, opened in 1926. This past year, Glendale Memorial Heart Center opened a new Congestive Heart Failure program to help patients better manage their illness. Last month the Heart Center opened the Chest Pain Center to provide rapid assessment and treatment of chest pain patients. Glendale Memorial has also been distinguished as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for three years in a row by HealthGrades. Andrea Alegria
