DTS Acquires Audio Tech Company

Digital technology company DTS Inc. acquired Washington State audio technology firm Neural Audio in a deal worth $7.5 million. The move expands the offerings the Agoura Hills-based DTS can make to the broadcast, satellite radio, automotive and gaming markets. Neural Audio, of Kirkland, Wash., licenses technology used in the creation, distribution and playback of music, movies, broadcast programs and video games. The acquisition also brings on board a talented team of professionals to enhance DTS’s tech expertise and market knowledge, said President and CEO Jon Kirchner. Joining DTS are Neural Audio CEO Geir Skaaden; President & COO Mark Seigle; Director of Engineering Jeff Thompson; and Chief Scientist James “JJ” Johnston.
