Disney, Microsoft in Xbox Film Deal

The Walt Disney Co. announced this week striking a deal with Microsoft to offer feature films through the Xbox online video game service, the Associated Press reports. The Burbank-based media conglomerate made the announcement on the eve of the E3 Media & Business Summit taking place in Santa Monica. Disney will make available 35 movies to subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Live feature, the AP reported. The agreement with Disney-ABC Domestic Television will also allow Xbox 360 owners to rent films on demand as they become available from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films and Hollywood Pictures, according to the AP. Xbox Live already offers movies and television shows from more than two dozen other content providers, the AP reported.
