Orders for amplifiers uses in multi-year defense contracts helped AML Communications Inc. to post a profit for its second quarter. The Camarillo-based development and manufacturing firm reported a net income of $104,000, or $0.01 per diluted share, on revenues of $3.20 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30. For the same period in 2006, the company reported a net loss of $32,000 on revenues of $2.15 million. Increased bookings for core defense business boosted the second revenues. The majority of the bookings are related to longer term contracts, some being multi-year programs. Revenue contribution from the Mica-Tech subsidiary, a designer and maker of satellite components, also raised the revenue for the quarter.
