CSUN Reports Its Best Fundraising Year

Cal State Northridge raised $28.8 million in private donations in its fiscal year 2003-04, its best fundraising year ever. The university reported that this is the fifth consecutive yearly increase, making it one of the most successful fundraising campuses on the California State University system. The largest contribution was $15 million in Chinese antiquities given by Roland Tseng. In September of 2003, Tseng pledged $38 million to CSUN over four years. The antiquities donation was the second-year installment of the donation. CSUN will spend much of the next few years raising money for a planned 1,600-seat Valley Performing Arts Center on its campus. The center is expected to cost $100 million.
