CSUN Halts Construction on Two Major Projects

California State University Northridge announced today that it was suspending construction activities on the $125 million Valley Performing Arts Center Project and a new $51 million science building as well as other capital improvement projects. The move comes after the state Department of Finance issued a directive to temporarily stop work on all construction being funded with state bond issues. The university has been told to inform its contractors that the suspension could last as long as 90 days. Construction of a new parking structure and the student housing expansion will continue as they are not being financed with state bond funds.
