The Ventura County Board of Supervisors agreed to apply for a federal stimulus grant that could provide up to $2.7 million to buy vacant, foreclosed homes in the county and either sell or rent them as affordable housing. By a 5-0 vote, the board approved an agreement to participate in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program with the cities of Camarillo, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Ventura.
