Teledyne Technologies Inc. received a $14.7 million contract to develop a system to decontaminate military equipment exposed to toxic chemicals. The work will be done by Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne’s Brown Engineering division in Alabama. The Joint Material Decontamination System will remove toxic contamination as a result of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons from sensitive equipment, command posts, aircraft and avionics, and other applications where water and harsh decontamination could damage or destroy items being decontaminated.
