Cherokee Signs Brazilian Deal

Cherokee Inc. signed a deal to distribute its clothing, footwear and accessories in Brazil through the Extra retail chain. The deal between Van Nuys-based Cherokee and Grupo Pao de Acucar, the largest retailer in Brazil, builds the company’s brand in South America. The multi-year agreement covers a wide range of categories including men’s and women’s, and children’s clothing, footwear, accessories, home and other categories. With the Brazil deal and other deals in Chile and Peru, the Cherokee brand is almost fully-licensed throughout South America, said Senior Vice President Larry Sass. “We are very proud of our geographic diversification, spanning throughout North and South America, as we execute our ‘World Branding’ of Cherokee,” Sass said.
