Valley business owner Dan Kahn is bringing his automotive industry expertise to a podcast in hopes of providing new entrepreneurs startup advice and business tips. Kahn, who is new to the world of online broadcasting, teamed up with Robert Kibbe, the host of a popular podcast on muscle cars. The second episode of “Cars for a Living” featuring Kahn and Kibbe is available on iTunes, Stitcher, and TheMusclePlace.com. “We both consume a lot of podcast content and the buddy shows are more pleasant to listen to,” Kahn said. Kahn is the owner of Kahn Media, a Reseda public relations and marketing firm geared toward auto industry clients. He says the podcasts bring greater exposure to his thoughts and suggestions on getting started with an automotive-related business. Kahn had been developing an advice show of his own when Kibbe started “Cars For a Living” in May. Rather than duplicate Kibbe’s efforts, Kahn suggested the pair work together. The only challenge was that Kibbe broadcasts from Ames, Iowa, and Kahn is here in the Valley. But with a professional grade microphone on Kahn’s end and a Skype connection, the pair sounds as though they’re in the same room, Kahn said. The first show was used to introduce Kahn to listeners. He started his career as a salesman, journalist and public relations professional in the automotive aftermarket business. He founded his own firm in 2008. The second show tackles how to own a business and still have a home and family life. Listeners have suggested topics that Kahn said he and Kibbe will consider for future shows. “We are sifting through those we can answer or have contacts in public relations or SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association) we can go to for advice,” Kahn said.
