Cinedigm to Distribute Insurrection Projects in North America

Cinedigm Corp. has made a deal with Insurrection Entertainment to distribute the independent production house’s content in North America, the company announced on Wednesday. As part of the multi-year pact, the Sherman Oaks distributor will oversee theatrical, television, home video and digital distribution for Insurrection projects. Insurrection plans to develop and produce new pictures in commercial genres that include holiday, family, action, thriller and western. The deal was made by Melody Fowler, vice president of acquisition at Cinedigm and Richard Brandes and Chris Nassif, founders of Insurrection. The agreement gives Cinedigm a diverse portfolio of independent features and will provide content for Cinedigm to distribute through traditional distribution channels as well as expanding into digital networks such as Dove Channel, CONTV and Docurama. “Cinedigm boasts wide distribution reach, and leadership that is forward-looking and savvy,” Nassif said in a statement. “As the home entertainment landscape continues to quickly evolve, we are thrilled to partner with a company with direct access to both traditional distribution channels as well as their own OTT network.” The first picture under the deal will be the comedy “Rambo Saves Christmas.” Production will start this month for a 2018 holiday release.
