Tix Board Member Resigns, Replaced by Vegas Developer

Tix Corp. announced Friday the resignation of David Saxe as a member of the board of directors, effective Dec. 16. The Studio City discount ticket seller named Barry Fieldman as the replacement to fill the vacancy. Fieldman is a Las Vegas real estate developer and entrepreneur with expertise in the real estate, tourism and hospitality industries. He serves as president of Bekam Development LLC, the master developer and owner for a 29-acre commercial subdivision in Las Vegas; is managing member of Smart Bar USA, the manufacturer and distributor of a patented fully automated cocktail dispensing system; and the owner and operator of a full-service liquor store. Tix Chief Executive Mitch Francis said the company was grateful to Saxe and was thrilled to welcome Fieldman to the board. “(He) has broad, relevant experience within Las Vegas and has been a valuable resource to us since our first ticket booth in 2002 (opened) … within his Showcase Mall project,” Francis said in a statement. Tix has kiosks under its Tix4Tonight subsidiary discount selling tickets in Las Vegas for shows, concerts and other attractions, as well as discount dining and shopping offers. Shares of Tix (TIXC) closed flat at 40 cents on the over-the-counter market.
