A subsidiary of Provision Holding Inc. has received a patent to protect its application of 3D holographic technology for self-service retail kiosks. The Chatsworth company makes kiosks installed in malls and stores that use holographs to make products appear to float in the air. The kiosks dispense coupons to promote sales of the products. The company originally filed for a patent for its “Interactive Kiosk with 3D Mechanism” in 2016. The system is now called “Holovision.” “We are extremely excited about the approval of this new patent as it further protects the company’s key business platform within the retail market,” said Chief Executive Curt Thornton in a statement. Shares of Provision (PVHO) closed up 1 cent, or 15 percent, to 8 cents on the over-the-counter market.
