Womens Football League Hires President

The Womens Football League Association has named Shawn “Pescas” Costner as president of the new sports league. Lupe Rose, chief executive of SHE Beverage in Lancaster and owner of the league, said that hiring Costner to be president was a “no brainer.” “We want the best, and his experience and expertise will help lead the way in redefining women in professional sports with the WFLA,” Rose said in a statement. Costner has a background in the music industry, including serving as executive vice president at Island Def Jam Music Group. He most recently was vice president of player relations for Roc Nation Sports, a subsidiary of Roc Nation LLC dedicated to sports representation for professional athletes. The football league will be made up of 32 teams divided into eastern and western conferences and will play a schedule of 18 games starting in 2021.
