Salem Media Group announced Tuesday the acquisition of PJ Media. The conservative news site will become part of Salem’s Townhall Media business, a collection of digital properties including Townhall, Hot Air, RedState, Twitchy and more. It will be managed by Vice President and General Manager Jonathan Garthwaite. “This is an exciting time for Salem and Townhall Media,” said David Evans, Salem’s president of interactive and publishing, in a statement. “In an age where many are struggling to figure out what a successful business model for online journalism looks like, we are continuing to grow and adapt in the changing environment and are thrilled to add PJ Media to the Salem family.” The addition of PJ Media will increase Townhall Media’s monthly footprint to more than 15 million readers. Shares of Salem Media (SALM) closed Tuesday up 1 cent, or a fraction of a percent, to $2.55 on the Nasdaq.
