Screening Rooms

What can $12 million get you these days? John Trautman and his Visual Data Media Services found out: a brand new, state-of-the art post-production facility. Visual Data moved into its new building at Hollywood Way near Verdugo Avenue in Burbank in January. It is now settled in and providing more than a dozen services, from editing, closed captioning, dubbing, sound effects, to the color correction performed by editor Ray Clarke, above. Founded by Trautman in 1995, Visual Data clients include 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Co., and Netflix among others. The content it handles is shown on television and video-on-demand through iTunes, Hulu and mobile devices. Visual Data’s new facility doesn’t scrimp. It even includes a temperature-controlled server room on the second floor for storing and managing large digital files of television shows and feature films.
