Raymond James Names Former Disney, MGA Exec to Board

Former Walt Disney Co. executive Anne Gates will join the board of directors of Raymond James Financial, Inc., the financial services firm announced Friday. A retail industry veteran, Gates was president of Van Nuys-based toy manufacturer MGA Entertainment Inc., from 2014 to last year. Prior to leading MGA Entertainment, she held several senior-level positions in Disney’s consumer product division, including executive vice president and chief financial officer. Gates will serve on the audit and risk committee at Raymond James. “As a client-focused firm, we are excited to add Anne’s extensive board and leadership experience in consumer-facing industries to our board,” said Chief Executive Paul Reilly in a statement. “I am confident she will provide valuable insights to help continue our legacy of conservative, thoughtful growth.” Shares of Raymond James (RFJ) fell 16 cents or less than a percent, Friday to close at $91.86 on the New York Stock Exchange.
