The board of Walt Disney Co. has elected Michael Froman as a new director. Froman is vice chairman and president of strategic growth at Mastercard. Before joining Mastercard, he served as U.S. Trade Representative from 2013 to 2017, negotiating international trade agreements and investments on behalf of the United States. “Given his broad experience and extraordinary career spanning both the public and private sectors, Mike brings a unique perspective that will be extremely valuable as we continue to build the future of Disney,” Chief Executive Robert Iger said in a statement. Shares of Disney (DIS), the entertainment and theme park company headquartered in Burbank, closed Friday down $1.41, or 1.3 percent, to $109.26 on the New York Stock Exchange.
