Women-Owned Valley Firms Make Fast-Growth List

Two San Fernando Valley companies made it on the Women Presidents’ Organization’s 50-fastest growing women-owned businesses list this year. The New York-based nonprofit, made up of 127 stateside and international chapters, ranked female business owners globally by sales growth using a formula that combines growth percentages with absolute growth. Included on the list were Woodland Hills finance and automation software provider Blackline and North Hollywood-based Protea Group International, a business management group. Blackline, owned by Therese Tucker, accounts for roughly $32 million in gross revenue and ranked No. 7 on the list. Protea ranked No. 27 and brought in $2.5 million in gross revenue in 2015. According to the organization, the 50 female-owned businesses that made the list generated nearly $5 billion in combined revenue last year and collectively account for 44,700 jobs.
