Warner Bros. Entertainment Selects Chief Executive

Ann Sarnoff has been named as the new chief executive at Warner Bros. Entertainment, according to media reports. Sarnoff joins the Burbank company three months after former chief executive Kevin Tsujihara left the post amid an investigation by its parent company WarnerMedia over alleged misconduct involving an affair with an actress and attempts to help her get roles in the studio’s films. Sarnoff is currently president of BBC Studios America, overseeing the business division in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. She shepherded L.A. Productions, linear and digital program sales and co-productions, home entertainment, and licensing, according to entertainment industry news website Deadline. Since Tsujihara left in March, Warner Bros. has been managed by an interim team of leaders made up of Toby Emmerich, chairman ofWarner Bros. Pictures Group; Peter Roth president and chief content officer at Warner Bros. Television Group; and Kim Williams, chief financial officer at Warner Bros. All three will now report to Sarnoff, according to Deadline. Sarnoff was quoted by the website saying it was a privilege to join a studio with such a storied history. “Warner Bros. has been an industry leader for decades and is known for creating many of the most iconic film, television and gaming properties,” Sarnoff continued. “I accept this position excited by the opportunity to work with the most accomplished executives and teams in media, and confident about carrying this incredible heritage forward with them.”
