Valley Students Win Warner Bros. Scholarships

Warner Bros. Entertainment has named the five high school seniors receiving scholarships and internships through its Reach program, including two students from the Valley. The Burbank studio awards $5,000 scholarships and paid internships for four summers while the students attend college. Additionally, the students are paired with an executive mentor and receive additional networking possibilities with entertainment industry professionals. The students receiving the benefits are Isabella Curtis and Darren Kim from Burbank High School; Erik Gomez from Felicitas & Gonzalo Mendez High School in Los Angeles; Tobias Romero from Santa Monica High School; and Jacob Brain from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, who received the Warner Bros. Animation/Hanna-Barbera Reach Honorship. Mary-Elizabeth Michaels, director of community affairs at Warner Bros. Entertainment, said the program provides a multi-year, in-depth internship working in the entertainment industry. “With unparalleled access, skill-building, and first-hand experience learning about various businesses at Warner Bros., the Reach program gives these students early exposure to a corporate setting and the ability to generate a network of professional contacts for their post-college careers,” Michaels said in a statement.
