National skincare products manufacturer Topix has acquired ClarityRx for an undisclosed price, the company announced Wednesday. Newbury Park-based ClarityRx, founded in 2003, specializes in spa-dispensed skincare products It has partnered with the Hand & Stone chain of spas, as well as other spas and estheticians. ClarityRx expects to accelerate its investment in new product development following the transaction, as well as focus on esthetician training and partnerships. The company will maintain its headquarters in Newbury Park with co-founders Karla Keene and Darcie Crandall in charge. “We are so excited to welcome Karla, Darcie and the entire ClarityRx team into the Topix family,” said Brenda Wu, chief executive at Topix. “ClarityRx is a highly differentiated, modern brand that delivers what today’s discerning consumers are seeking, the best of science and nature. We see tremendous potential in ClarityRx and are eager to further support the brand and their customers, including the over 400 Hand & Stone franchises.” Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, located in Sherman Oaks, served as legal advisor to ClarityRx while Lowenstein Sandler, headquartered in Roseland, N.J., provided legal counsel to Topix.
