Avery Dennison Corp. on Wednesday announced the launch of Sustainable ADvantage, a products portfolio that emphasizes sustainability.The Glendale label and graphic materials manufacturer said the new product line will enable companies to use few natural resources, cut carbon emissions and reduce waste.While many of the products within the portfolio have been available, bringing them together under one identifiable umbrella gives customers confidence in meeting their own sustainability goals, the company said in a press release.Tina Hart, vice president, global strategic innovation platform at Avery Dennison, called sustainability a core value at the company, one that is built into its product design, operations and culture.“We innovate not only to reduce the environmental impact, but to go further and actually improve the planet and the industries we serve,” Hart said in a statement. “We’re proud to do our part in helping the world move toward a regenerative future.”The products in the Sustainable ADvantage portfolio include adhesives that enable more plastic to be recycled; water-efficient digital printers; labels and tags made with 100 percent Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper; industrial tapes to replace heavier fasteners; and compostable paper packaging for shipping, the company said in its release.Shares in Avery Dennison (AVY) closed down 17 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $208.05 on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, a day when the Dow Jones industrial average closed up a fraction of a percent.
