New CEO for Valencia Manufacturer

H2scan has named David Meyers as the company’s new chief executive, replacing founder Dennis Reid who is retiring.

Meyers had been chief operating officer for the Valencia manufacturer of hydrogen sensors since February.

The company is relying on Meyers to lead it into a future focused on building on its current strength in the transformer division, while accelerating its efforts in the ever-expanding hydrogen economy, said Reid, who founded H2scan in 2002.

“Dave has the right background and skill set to take H2scan to an even higher level,” Reid added in a statement.

Meyers said he is excited to provide leadership at H2scan as he believes the company is well positioned to take advantage of growth in the power transformer monitoring market.

“I thank the board and Dennis for this opportunity and for establishing a strong foundation of people, technologies and funding to build our future,” Meyers said in a statement. “H2scan is well positioned to help energy providers be more resilient and ensure safety and effectiveness of their hydrogen decarbonization investments.”

H2scan sensors are used for electrical distribution reliability and are ideal for measuring hydrogen concentration in fuel cells, electrolyzers and hydrogen distribution pipelines to reduce carbon emissions, according to the company.
