German Light Grows Valley Presence

German Light Products, a lighting manufacturer based in Germany, has signed a lease for space in San Fernando as its new West Coast headquarters, according to commercial real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield. The maker of lighting equipment largely for the entertainment industry has leased nearly 37,000 square feet at 1145 Arroyo Ave. in the San Fernando Business Center under a five-year agreement, said the brokerage firm. German Light’s new space is about three times larger than its existing location at 10945 Pendleton St. in Sun Valley and will hold a showroom, technical department, spare parts area and sales and support offices. “German Light Products was looking to expand their U.S. distribution center to a top-notch facility with ample office space for employee growth,” Paul Sims, an associate at Cushman & Wakefield, said in a statement. He brokered the deal on behalf of German Light along with Erik Larson, Robin Dodson, John Minervini and Christopher Tolles. CBRE Group Inc.’s Bennett Robinson represented the building’s owner, Barings Real Estate Advisers. German Light intends to occupy its new headquarters on June 1, Cushman & Wakefield said. The 147,000-square-foot industrial building was built in 1989 and includes three dock-high doors, six dock-high positions and a 24-foot minimum clear height ceiling as well as access to the 210, 118 and 5 freeways.
