Capstone Turbine Corp. announced Wednesday the sale of 30 of its microturbines for use in various locations in the United Kingdom. The Chatsworth alternative energy company will commission the order for the C65 ICHP microturbines in July for use at multiple leisure, health care and hospitality facilities. Pure World Energy Ltd., Capstone’s partner in the United Kingdom, secured the order. The natural gas-powered 65 kilowatt microturbines were chosen for their high reliability, low emissions and low cost of ownership. Capstone Chief Executive Darren Jamison said that energy efficiency was a growth market in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. “We are honored that Pure World Energy has chosen to expand its fleet by leveraging our Capstone product,” Jamison said in a prepared statement. Shares closed down 1 cent, or more than 1 percent, to 82 cents on the Nasdaq.
