Sensor provider Interlink Electronics Inc. in Westlake Village has named John Heitzinger to the new position of director of strategic partnerships, the company announced Tuesday. In his new job, Heitzinger will develop external relationships to more rapidly create and adopt sensor system products. He will work with technology companies, universities, industry groups and government agencies, the company said, as well as help identify companies to purchase. A 20-year veteran of the electronics industry, Heitzinger has worked in the semiconductor, printed and flexible hybrid electronics segments and in technology development. He previously served as president of sensor manufacturer Soligie Inc. until it was bought by Molex Inc. in 2015. Chief Executive Steven Bronson said Heitzinger brings commercial and government contracting experience, technical capability and market knowledge to the company. Interlink (LINK) shares closed Tuesday down 70 cents, or nearly 8 percent, to $8.10 on the Nasdaq.
