LED technology company EcoSense Lighting in downtown L.A. announced on Monday that it has acquired the assets of Westlake Village’s Journée Lighting Inc., a privately owned LED lighting developer. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Journée was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur Clayton Alexander, who also founded lighting design firm Radiance Lightworks Inc. and Ember Technologies Private Limited. Both companies are also based in Westlake Village. One year after forming Journée, the company launched the world’s first high-brightness LED track light called the Lotus and has been growing ever since. EcoSense hopes the acquisition will help the company expand into the downlight and track lighting market with the utilization of Journee’s portfolio of patents. “Journée’s specifier-grade product portfolio is a great complement to our brand,” EcoSense Chief Executive Mark Reynoso said in a statement. “Their significant IP portfolio will enable us to expand our product offering in interesting ways.”
