A business unit of Teledyne Technologies Inc. has received a contract of more than $20 million to continue its support of the F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft. Teledyne Advanced Electronic Solutions will produce and deliver fiber optic quad transceivers to Harris Corp., in Melbourne, Fla. which supplies the avionics for the F-35. Teledyne will perform the work at its facility in Lewisburg, Tenn. Teledyne AES is owned by Teledyne Technologies in Thousand Oaks. The F-35 is made by Lockheed Martin Corp., an aircraft that Teledyne AES has supported since 2004. The plane’s fuselages are assembled at Northrop Grumman Corp.’s plant in Palmdale. Shares of Teledyne (TDY) closed Tuesday down $1.98, or less than a percent, to $232.72 on the New York Stock Exchange.
