Chatsworth Aerospace Firm Acquires Rights to Pratt & Whitney Engine Parts

Chatsworth aerospace manufacturer Ontic has acquired manufacturing rights from Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. for more of its JT15D engine parts, the company announced Tuesday.This is the fourth phase of an acquisition process that began in 2015, the companies said, adding to Ontic’s portfolio of engine support capabilities. The private company will manufacture and sell JT15D components through its Chatsworth facility and continue distribution through Boeing, Ontic said in a press release.More than 6,700 JT15D turbofan engines were produced since the 1970s and are used on a wide range of business aircraft, including the Cessna Citation II, Hawker 400A, T1-A JayHawk and Cessna Citation V.“The JT15D engine aligns with Ontic’s commitment to support legacy products,” Gareth Blackbird, vice president and chief commercial officer at Ontic, said in a statement. “This continues the logical progression and expansion of our current services to our OEM partners. We value our relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada and are looking forward to continue working with them.”
