Capstone Adds Seat to Boardroom

Capstone Turbine Corp. has appointed Robert Flexon, a veteran energy industry executive, to its board of directors. Flexon most recently served as chief executive of Dynegy Inc., a power generation company in Houston that was acquired this month by Vistra Energy Corp. in a deal valued at $1.7 billion. Flexon also has held executive positions with UGI Corp., a distributor and marketer of energy products and services; Foster Wheeler, a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier; NRG Energy Inc.; and Atlantic Richfield Co. Darren Jamison, chief executive of Van Nuys-based Capstone, called Flexon an experienced executive and financial innovator in the energy industry. “I believe his strong energy industry experience, especially in mergers and acquisitions, and in building global businesses, will be extremely valuable as Capstone continues to grow its distributed generation business around the world,” Jamison said in a statement. Flexon’s appointment was announced Monday. On Tuesday, shares in Capstone (CPST) closed down 3 cents, or 2 percent, to $1.50 on the Nasdaq.
