Los Angeles-based Herbalife Nutrition and Proactive Sports Performance in Thousand Oaks announced they will open a sports center in Westlake Village by the end of next year. The 16,200-square foot facility will be located at 31425 Agoura Road, according to Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura, who transacted the deal. The landlord, Westlake Industrial Complex, LP, was represented by Tim Foutz with NAI Capital. The center will be more than triple the size of its current 5,000-square foot building at 3155 Willow Lane, and is a continuation of an eight-year partnership between the two companies. The location combines sports nutrition and performance through on-site nutritionists and exercise scientists for athletes. “With more than a decade in the making, this facility will pair sports science and our best-in-class training environment. Nutrition, training, recovery and therapy will be seamlessly integrated in this performance center,” Ryan Capretta, founder and director of Proactive Sports Performance, said in a statement. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with Herbalife Nutrition.” The facility will have a basketball court, plunge pools for recovery after exercise, altitude chambers used for elite competitors, and a biomechanics testing lab, Lee & Associates said. “Ryan Capretta, the founder, started his career on staff with the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens and opened a small facility in Westlake Village about 15 years ago,” said Grant Fulkerson, a Lee principal who represented Proactive in the transaction. “Since then he has built his brand to national renown, and I feel privileged to see him take this next step.” Termed a “comprehensive sports nutrition performance research facility,” the Westlake Village center aims to analyze every aspect of an athlete’s lifestyle to maximize results on the field, in training and in recovery, Herbalife said. The gym will not be open to the general public, instead offering private training services by appointment only.
