Directors of New Horizons on Wednesday announced the appointment of Roschell Ashley as its interim chief executive officer effective Jan. 1. She replaces Cynthia Sewell, who is retiring after more than 28 years with the nonprofit, including nearly 25 years as executive director, president and CEO. Sewell will remain a consultant to the agency through next year. New Horizons in North Hills provides services to the intellectually disabled. Ashley has been New Horizons’ chief operating officer since 2014. She joined the agency nearly 12 years ago as its director of Housing and Community Living and was later promoted to vice president of operations. Under her leadership, the New Horizons’ residential program became acknowledged as among the highest-rated home care facilities in California.
