Providence St. Joseph Medical Center has named Kelly Linden as its new chief executive. She will start in her new role Monday. Linden will replace Kerry Carmody, who currently serves as interim chief executive after coming out of retirement until the Burbank hospital could find a permanent replacement. Linden joins Providence St. Joseph as it prepares to expand and redesign its emergency department and upgrade its neurosciences program. “I’m very much looking forward to joining Providence St. Joseph,” Linden said in a statement. “For decades, this medical center has been recognized for quality and innovative care in a number of specialties – and for attracting leading physicians and tremendous employees.” Previously, she served as chief operating officer and executive vice president at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, which also operates under the Providence St. Joseph Health umbrella. Providence St. Joseph Health of Renton, Wash. is a not-for-profit health care system that currently operates three hospitals in the San Fernando Valley – Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Providence Tarzana Medical Center and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.
