Health management company Apollo Medical Holdings Inc. announced Tuesday that its affiliate medical group ApolloMed Hospitalists has been contracted to provide its services to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas in the Monterey Bay area. Under the agreement, the Glendale company will provide 12 full-time hospitalists to cover five day shifts and one night shift as well as a care coordinator, who will be responsible for making patient rounds and coordinating care with their primary physicians. Hospitalists are health-care providers who work exclusively in hospitals. “We are very excited to have been selected as the new hospitalist group at SVMH,” Dr. Warren Hosseinion, chief executive of ApolloMed, said in a statement. “We have developed inpatient protocols to effectively manage care and optimize utilization, and look forward to working with the medical and nursing staff to enhance patient care.” ApolloMed shares were unchanged Tuesday at $5.20 on the over-the-counter market.
