Antelope Valley Hospital Names CEO

Antelope Valley Hospital has named a new chief executive, following the district board’s Dec. 23 decision to oust prior administrative leader John Rossfeld. Michael Wall, former chief executive of Northridge Hospital Medical Center, was appointed the position Tuesday and began in his new role Wednesday, wrote a hospital spokesperson in an email to the Business Journal. During last month’s board meeting, former chief operating officer Ron Bingham was also terminated along with the Lancaster hospital’s contract with health management company Alecto Healthcare Services of Irvine to oversee operations. The three-year contract, which began in November 2015, was prematurely halted “without cause,” resulting in a more than $6 million penalty the hospital will have to pay, the spokesperson explained. Don Parazo served as interim chief executive since Dec. 23 and has been appointed as board chair along with newcomers to the board – Abdallah Farrukh, Kristina Hong, Mateo Olivarez and Mukund Shah.
