Antelope Valley Hospital has been designated as a Level II trauma center, the only such medical facility in the region. The center is open 24 hours a day in the emergency department with a board-certified surgeon present in the hospital. In addition, 80 nurses have completed the Trauma Nurse Core Course. The center is just one of a number improvements made at the hospital, which implemented a tobacco-free campus, acquired a da Vinci surgical robot and received approval to break ground on a cancer center. “AV Hospital will continue to add to these enhancements in patient care as the hospital of choice in the Antelope Valley,” said CEO Edward Mirzabegian.
