At Least 38 Virus Cases in Valley

At least 38 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the San Fernando Valley area by Thursday, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. That includes six cases that have been confirmed since the day before. The Valley-area communities hardest hit are Encino with seven confirmed cases, Sherman Oaks with six and Tarzana with five. A list is below. However, the actual number is probably higher. The health department said 87 cases are spread around in unspecified, small communities in Los Angeles and in unincorporated areas of the county, and some of those additional cases are likely in the Valley area. In all of Los Angeles County, 231 cases have been confirmed as of noon Thursday. That is an increase of 41 from the previous day, which saw an increase of 46 from the previous day. Two coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the county. Here is a list of confirmed coronavirus cases in each Valley area community, according to the health department: Encino – 7 (1 new case) Glendale – 4 North Hollywood – 3 (1 new case) Northridge – 1 Reseda –1 Santa Clarita – 2 Sherman Oaks – 6 (2 new cases) Sylmar – 2 (1 new case) Tarzana – 5 West Hills – 3 Woodland Hills – 4 (1 new case)
