Apollo to Launch Predictive Analysis System

Apollo Medical Holdings Inc. announced Tuesday a collaboration with data analytics firm Helynx Inc. in Pasadena to identify high-risk patients and improve their health care. Glendale-based ApolloMed will deploy the system in its Accountable Care Organization and Maverick Independent Physician Association. The predictive analysis will help identify patients with the highest risk of hospital admission and readmission, predict cases with high costs and approximate hospital lengths of stay. Helynx’s platform will also record and consolidate data to identify patterns and outliers, which will help ApolloMed improve patient outcomes, while increasing efficiency and lowering costs. “We believe that big data analytics will play a transformative role in health care in the near future and especially in population health management,” Dr. Warren Hosseinion, chief executive of ApolloMed, said in a statement. “Helynx’s unique machine-learning predictive analytics platform will help us further identify our highest-risk patients, so we can assign care managers and clinicians to them and intervene in their care before they deteriorate.” ApolloMed shares were unchanged at $6.96 on the over the counter market.
