Lancaster City Manager Bozigian to Retire

Lancaster City Manager Mark Bozigian will retire from the job effective at the end of the year. Bozigian has been city manager since 2008 and oversees the city’s nine administrative departments. Prior to that appointment, he was assistant city manager, redevelopment director, assistant to the city manager and transportation programs coordinator. “As city manager, I am particularly proud to have supported Mayor (Rex) Parris and the City Council in serving our residents and businesses through numerous programs and projects, notably the BLVD downtown renovation and significant business attraction efforts,” Bozigian said in a statement. Parris said that when Bozigian took over as city manager, the city was facing enormous problems with loss of city staff and much of its revenue. “In contrast, the last 10 years under Mark’s leadership have truly been the most profound when it comes to the development of our city as a whole,” Parris said in a statement. During Bozigian’s tenure, Lancaster saw a revival of its downtown area and attracted new businesses such as aerospace supplier Morton Manufacturing and Chinese electric bus manufacturer BYD Motors Inc. Also, existing businesses expanded during his tenure, including Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp.
