AMS Employees ‘March for Change’ in Valencia

On Thursday, employees of AMS Fulfillment in Valencia participated in a “March for Change” from the company’s headquarters building to a nearby warehouse. The company said through the event, AMS would “express its solidarity with the peaceful demonstrations taking place across America and around the world.” At the end of the march, employees had a socially distanced lunch and heard from speakers at the warehouse on Livingston Avenue. “For the most part, I stay away from talking politics, but with the movement that has been started in this latest example of brutality, I want you all to know that my heart and my thoughts are with the oppressed,” Chief Executive Jay Catlin said in a statement. “As a B-corporation, we will continue to be a company that cares for its people and the betterment of our community.” Protests throughout the country have occurred for weeks since the death of George Floyd, an African-American man who died May 25 after his arrest in Minneapolis by white police officers, one of whom has been charged with second-degree homicide, third-degree homicide and second-degree manslaughter. AMS operates four fulfillment centers in Valencia. It also has facilities in New Holland, Pa. and New Castle, Del. from an acquisition earlier this year. AMS itself was acquired last year by Fort Point Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm.
