B. Riley FBR Inc. has appointed Mark J. Grant as managing director and chief global strategist, the company announced Monday. Grant will provide the Woodland Hills investment bank and its affiliate, Wunderlich Securities Inc., with insights on market strategies and economic trends. “We’re thrilled to have Mark join the firm,” Bryant Riley, chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Our firm continually strives to provide our clients with financial services that provide optimal results. Mark’s extensive experience and actionable insights will enable us to enhance our services across the firm and deliver a unique and advantageous experience to our clients.” Before joining the firm, Grant served as chief strategist and managing director at Hilltop Securities Inc. He has 43 years of financial industry experience and is one of only 15 people selected by Bloomberg as a Bloomberg prophet. Shares of B. Riley Financial (RILY) closed Monday down 35 cents or 1 percent at $17.80 on the Nasdaq.
