California Credit Union Offers Government Shutdown Relief

Glendale-based California Credit Union is offering financial relief programs to members whose paychecks have been interrupted by the partial government shutdown. Members may skip a loan payment on most lines of credit, request early withdraw from deposit accounts and apply for reduced-rate personal loans up to $3,000. “In light of the current government shutdown, we want our members to know that we’re here to help,” said Chief Executive Steve O’Connell in a statement. “California Credit Union members can rest assured we will provide them with a variety of special assistance programs to help alleviate some of the financial stress this situation may cause them.” The shutdown is in its 18th day and shows few signs of coming to a resolution soon.
