BlackLine Inc. has hired technology executive Yoshiko Furuhama as country manager for BlackLine K.K., the company’s recently established subsidiary in Japan. Furuhama previously worked at Philips Japan. Before that, she worked more than 20 years in various executive positions at SAP in both Japan and Germany. BlackLine, based in Woodland Hills, makes software that streamlines financial close operations. “We see significant opportunity to help companies based in Japan with their finance transformation journeys,” BlackLine Chief Executive Therese Tucker said in a statment. “We believe Yoshiko’s extensive experience fostering digital transformation and advancing cloud technology at multiple Japanese companies will be a tremendous asset in helping BlackLine establish a strong market presence.” The company announced Furuhama’s hiring on Monday. Shares of BlackLine (BL) closed Monday up $1.90, or 4.7 percent, to $42.49 on the Nasdaq.
