Banker Arrested for Murder in Reseda

 A Bank of America executive was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder in the death of a 48-year-old woman in Reseda.Anthony Duwayne Turner is being held in the Van Nuys Jail on a $2 million bond.Turner was arrested near in his home in the 8800 block of Airline Avenue in Westchester. He is a middle market business executive at Bank of America Los Angeles.Turner is being held in connection with the death of Michelle Avan at her home near the 19300 block of Covello Street in Reseda. She was identified by the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper as a senior vice president in human resources at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.According to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department, relatives became concerned when they could not contact Avan early Thursday morning.“A family member made the discovery and notified police and paramedics,” the release said. “Upon arrival, officers located a female inside the residence, unresponsive. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were summoned and pronounced death.”Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating the death. The exact cause is unknown; however, Avan appeared to have suffered trauma to her face, the release added.In a statement, the bank said it was devastated by the news of Avan’s death.“Michelle was a valued member of our company for more than 20 years and will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family,” the statement said.
