Exer Urgent Care Opens 29th Clinic

El Segundo-based Exer Urgent Care further solidified its presence in the Valley with the opening of a new location in Porter Ranch.

The clinic is located at The Vineyards in Porter Ranch and marks Exer’s 29th clinic in total. It joins a cast of other Exer clinics in the Valley region that include locations in Calabasas, Westlake Village, West Hills, Tarzana and Sherman Oaks.

“We are so excited to further our expansion throughout Southern California and offer unparalleled services, helping the local community avoid inconvenient and expensive trips to the emergency room,” Rob Mahan, chief executive of Exer Urgent Care, said in a statement. “Our team is thrilled to bring Porter Ranch a reliable healthcare solution that is more comprehensive than your typical walk-in clinic, providing high-quality, convenient and affordable care, because the needs of our patients come first.”

Exer offers an in-house PCR lab and Covid-19 rapid test results available for patients by the end of the day. PCR tests are available and can have results turned around by the end of the next day. There is also an on-site x-ray and pharmacy, IV services, laceration treatment and diagnostics at Exer clinics including the Porter Ranch location.

Exer joins the trend urgent care centers and clinics being established in large numbers in the last few years. The number of such centers in the U.S. reached 9,616 in 2019, according to the Urgent Care Association, a 9.6% increase from the previous year. That figure is likely to have increased now, given that the pandemic gave urgent care centers more demand for things such as  testing and diagnoses.

Exer Porter Ranch will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Exer accepts most PPO, HMO and Medicare policies and offers options for those with minimal or no health insurance.
