Dole, Walmart Team on Hunger Campaign

Dole Sunshine Co. will participate in Walmart and Sam’s Club’s Fight Hunger, Spark Change campaign with donations targeting Los Angeles County.

Dole Sunshine Co. will participate in Walmart and Sam’s Club’s Fight Hunger, Spark Change campaign with donations targeting Los Angeles County.

For every Dole Cherry Mixed Fruit bowl purchased in store on online through Walmart, the Westlake Village-based food company will donate 10 cents to Feeding America and its network of food banks.

“Based on sales to date, over 1,500,000 meals will be provided to families in need,” Dole Sunshine, a subsidiary of Dole plc headquartered in Ireland, said in a statement.

The campaign will be supported by paid digital, content and social media.

Dole hosted an employee giveback day as a part of the campaign in Oxnard this month, benefiting Food Share Ventura County. The event supports Dole’s efforts tied to its “Malnutrition Labels” campaign to call attention to nutritional issues.

“With this campaign, we’re able to support more families in need in Los Angeles, as well as offer an opportunity for our local team members to get involved and support on the ground,” Orzse Hodi, managing director of Dole Packaged Foods, said in a statement.
