Cal Lutheran Creates Business Mentorship Posts

Two veteran business leaders have been tapped to fill the new executive-in-residence and entrepreneur-in-residence posts at California Lutheran University’s School of Management, the college announced Monday. Primo Custodio, former vice president of human resources at NBCUniversal, and motivational speaker Jim Cathcart will serve as the school’s first executive-in-residence and entrepreneur-in-residence, respectively. In addition to mentoring students, they will speak at and participate in events and classes, Cal Lutheran said. Both men currently sit on the business school’s advisory council. Custodio graduated from Cal Lutheran with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1999 and an MBA in management and organizational behavior in 2007. The Chatsworth resident retired from NBC in June after leading the company’s HR department for 15 years, where he oversaw the human resources team through six mergers and acquisitions. Cathcart is a longtime marketing professional who is the author of 17 books, including “Relationship Selling: The Key to Getting and Keeping Customers” and “The Self-Motivation Handbook.” He was inducted into the National Speakers Association Council of Peers’ Award for Excellence “Hall of Fame” in 1985.
