California Lutheran University School of Management has appointed executives from Amgen Inc. and Lucky Brand to its dean’s executive council. David Meline, chief financial officer of Amgen in Thousand Oaks, and Nigel Kershaw, chief financial officer of L.A.-based Lucky Brand, join executives from Trader Joe’s Co., Yamaha Motor Co. and other companies in providing strategic direction to Cal Lutheran’s business school as members of Dean Gerhard Apfelthaler’s executive council. Prior to joining Amgen in 2014, Meline served as chief financial officer of manufacturing company 3M. He previously held multiple senior-level positions at domestic and international arms of General Motors Co., including the role of vice president and chief financial officer for GM North America. Meline is a board member of Swiss technology firm Asea Brown Boveri Ltd. and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. Kershaw has served as chief financial officer of Lucky Brand since 2014. He was previously chief financial officer of women’s apparel retailer Cabi, which he joined in 2013 after nearly eight years at Guess Inc. His career also has included positions at Walt Disney Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked in the audit and transactions services divisions from 1995 until 2003.
